An Unhappy Valentines Message From Fight Like Apes

Until today, I hadn't heard of Ireland's Fight Like Apes, but that all changed when a nice little letter showed up in my email from them that included a fun little indie video for their song "Digifucker".  Aside from the brilliant name, the tune and vid is perfect for the romantic in all of us and greatly encapsulates the true meaning of Valentine's Day.

My new favourite band, perhaps?

Letter and video after the jump!

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Last year three students from the Tisch School of the Arts in NYC made an unsolicited video for Fight Like Apes.

Given that Friday The 13th runs into Valentines Day, we thought it would be fun to circulate the clip as it captures a very FLApian view of romance.

Please feel free to forward to friends, fiends, lovers and others. Ensuring of course they are not offended by very strong language.

Their US Debut Ep titled You Filled His Head With Fluffy Clouds and Jolly Ranchers, What Did You Think Was Going To Happen, is out March 9th on Model Citizen Records

Fluxblog writes that they "specialize in bold, urgent pop songs that lean hard on the propulsive dynamics of post-Pixies alt-rock while stripping out the guitars and replacing them with colorful synth textures."  And they have Idolator charmed with their wit.

Catch the feisty Irish Band at SXSW 2009.  More information on Fight Like Apes below.
